Abdulbaqi Badru is the Principal Technology Consultant to the DVC Teaching and Learning portfolio at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He is responsible for developing and operationalising the technology strategy of the portfolio. Abdulbaqi has worked on signature projects for the office and he was a member of the task team assigned to develop the technology-enhanced learning capabilities at UKZN. His expertise spans across project management, systems development and support, web development, business and IT analysis, training and data analytics.
Abdulbaqi was a recipient of SAAIR conference scholarship in 2019. He was recognized as one of UKZN’s top 40 inspiring students in 2017 based on his contribution to sport and research engagement at the university. He was also awarded ISACA scholarship in 2017 while completing his Masters studies. He earned certificate of merits during for his honours modules on research methodology, research project, information systems security.
